At Roundabouts Day Nurseries we absolutely love to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and we are lucky enough to have a choice of outdoor play areas for our children to explore at both our settings.

A smaller garden at the front of the building, our equipment filled big garden and our large nature garden at our Nantwich setting, and our free flow Preschool and Rising 3’s garden and our Baby and Toddler Garden at our Shavington setting. Each outdoor area allows children with space to freely explore the outdoors and promotes both physical and mental well-being.

We understand the important contribution that being outdoors has on early years learning and development and feel it’s vital to offer children opportunities in varied environments, such as outside. 

We encourage children to explore, have a sense of adventure and put their own ideas to use. Playing outside is also a great opportunity for teamwork and encourages children to build on the foundations of their friendships. 

We play outside in all weathers and our older children often use their voting system to decide which play area they visit. 

Children access the outdoors both morning and afternoon and our flexible, child led approach allows us to be spontaneous in accessing outdoor activities.
